President Muhammadu Buhari has assured the southeast of unalloyed commitment to Federal government projects in the region.
The President held a meeting with some political leaders From the region including the Deputy President of the Senate Ike Ekweremmadu yesterday.
In a report through the President's Senior Special Assistant on Media and publicity Garbu Shehu, the President assures that in his best, the government will adhere strictly to signed agreements on ongoing projects.
"I assure you that we are doing our best and will not default on the agreements signed on ongoing Projects."
He noted that delay in signing the year's budget posed a solvable problem.
"When you sign (contracts) and you don’t pay, they (contractors) can legally jack up their costs. This is part of the problem.
‘‘The infrastructure budget is a deficit budget. The borrowing plan was only approved three weeks ago and all ministers and departments of government have been instructed to forge ahead. We must not find excuses for delaying the projects.
Also, the President stated that infrastructural development is key to success in businesses.
‘‘Developing infrastructure is the best thing we can do. When the roads are okay, the rails are established and there is power, Nigerians will flourish in their businesses.”
The meeting with the Southeast political leaders also had in attendance the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha; ministers of Science and Technology; Industry, Trade and Investment; Labour and Employment; Transportation and Power, Works and Housing.

Goodluck Jonathan Expresses Appreciation to Nigerians and the International community

Former President of Nigeria Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has tendered unreserved appreciation to Nigerians and members of the International community for honouring him on his 61st birthday.

The event which was held in Abuja on November 20th 2018 was honoured by politicians, clerics, traditional rulers and Nigerians from all works of life. Also the occasion was graced by members of the international community.
In a tweet, Mr Jonathan said,
Thank you Nigerians and members of the international community for your birthday wishes, and for honouring me with your presence at Tuesday's public presentation of my book 'My Transition Hours' in Abuja.'
In a felicitation with his Predecessor just before the occasion, President Buhari congratulated Goodluck for the publication of his memoir and noted that the former President's gesture is emulative.
“The president congratulates Dr Jonathan on the publishing of his memoir, My Transition Hours, which will be launched as part of ceremonies marking his birthday, President Buhari encouraged Nigerians to follow the same example of sharing their experiences in writing.
“President Buhari prays that the almighty God will strengthen Dr Jonathan, grant him longer life and bless his family,”
The President represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha said to Jonathan on the occasion “You are a leader of the past, of now and of the future; you will rise again; I wish you the best you wish yourself."
Similarly Nigerians across all works of life and members of the international community have continued to pour encomiums on the former President through social media.

Omokri asks for a retweet of his Tweet
The former special assistant to Dr Goodluck Jonathan Bemigho Reno Omokri has highlighted grey areas he claimed the government of President Buhari recorded abysmal performances and asked his followers for retweets.
The founder of Build up Nigeria made the disclosure in his official Twitter handle.
Omokri noted that if such areas like government integrity, achievements, promise to reduce rice import etc are 'fake', the next level also is fake.
