The porverty stricken mentality

Ever seen a man that prefers to wallow in poverty thinking he is making life easier? I have and by extension, the way such people reason when it gets to some issues makes you convinces you that there people who love to be poor. Such people are poverty stricken to the extent that every move they make depicts and represent poverty. How would you describe someone who preferred to collect money in exchange of something that would make him live healthier?
To such people, they would rather prefer a sachet water in the place of a bottled water, now when you offer them sachet water, they would prefer drilled (borehole) water in the place of the sachet water. All they calculate is what could be done for them to be left with some change. My brother, to me, health and not just health but good health is my priority. I rather spend money to prevent disease than save millions of money that would be spent on treatment.
The God that created us is wealthy; he gives everyone to opportunity to be like him. And if he is a wealthy God, and has offered you and I the opportunity to live wealthy, why then are some people poor. The answer is simple, mentality. The difference between a wealthy man and a poor man is mentality. The wealthy man cultivates the mentality of the rich, and puts them to work while the poor cultivates the poor man's mentality puts that to work and reaps what he has sown.

One of the attitudes that is cultivated by human being is the Poverty mentality attitude. Not a good one really. It's a way of thinking that promotes and houses poverty. The people of this attitude do focus on what one doesn't have rather than what one does have. They are always thinking of how they would exchange what they have which is of much benefit especially to their health in the place of what they do not have. they are Self centered, unproductive and too lazy to take the bull by the horn. Thoughts and comments such as "I can't afford this..." and "I'll never have enough money for that..." may turn out to be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Zig Ziglar noted that focusing on the concern about what is missing in one's life rather than focusing on what is there can lead to further poverty. Ziglar and others believe the ones who break out of poverty and really succeed are those who use what they do have, are grateful for what they do have and most of all aren't jealous of what others have. Basically, it's an attitude of self-belief and empowerment rather than one of self-pity and jealousy that is thought to combat the destructive poverty mentality.
Being positive and building on what you do have can lead to developing a positive, workable plan that can lead to all types of successes even if you don't believe the so-called poverty mentality exists. The ideas of thinking positively and believing in ourselves and our abilities often seem so cliche that many of us tend to ignore these concepts. Yet if we think about it, ignoring them may be quite self destructive.
If we don't want to live in poverty, no matter how much we may wish to be rich or richer it isn't enough. We have to have a workable plan and an attitude that brings money our way rather than repels it and keeps others from wanting to help us. The first step in overcoming poverty mentality is becoming aware that we have it. We can rethink the statements we make about money and stop focusing on being poor. Rather than concentrating on what we don't have compared to others, we need to focus on what we do have, what our purpose is and how we can positively get what we want.
